Member of the month – April

We have so many amazing and inspiring stories that walk through our doors at Main Event Fitness. It would be selfish of us not to share some of them with you guys, so we have started profiling some of our members for you!

Our April member is Francesca:

Francesca, you have been training at Main Event under Clint Alderton for a while now, but you have been training with him for quite a while even before that. How long have you been boxing for?

I have done a bit of boxing on and off for a couple of years which I would do as part of bootcamp/fitness sessions.

You are one of our most dedicated members, and have even organised some more advanced private sessions during the week with the other girls. What keeps you motivated, and what do you love most about boxing?

Seeing improvements each time I come in definitely keeps me motivated! I love everything about boxing! I love the way it can make you feel after you’ve had a good session but love it even more when you come back the next day more determined than ever after a bad one!

What is your current workout routine?

Currently I’m down at Main Event doing the 3 boxing classes and 1 extra session with coach Clint Alderton during the week. Plus a few of us girls get together for some extra sessions practicing what we’ve learnt during the week, sparring or doing circuits.

In your opinion, what is the biggest benefit of exercising?

For me, I like to feel strong, fit and have plenty of energy! Sitting at a desk all day makes me feel tired and sluggish! Exercising gives me all that I need to feel good mentally and physically.

What advice would you give to other women looking to get into boxing?

Don’t be afraid to give it a go! We shouldn’t hold back just because we are women! Especially with the amazing support you’ll get from other members and trainers at Main Event! You’ll be pleasantly surprised at how much more confident, happy, strong and focused you’ll become ?
