Member of the Month – August
Meet Letitia, who rarely misses a 6am Hiit or boxing class. Letitia is our August member of the month! She’s determined, she works hard and we’re proud of how far she’s come!
How long have you been a member?
It will be two years in November
What made you decide to join the ETC?
The gym I was going to cut back on classes and started charging extra for them on top of the membership fees. I only did classes so it wasn’t working for me. I walked past ETC with a friend and we decided to have a look and do a trial class. We loved it and signed up as members straight away.
What do you love about HIIT classes?
They are short bursts of hard work with rests in between so you can recover and not burn out so quickly. I feel like I am getting fitter, but I still have a long way to go.

What are you current fitness goals?
To improve my fitness and my boxing technique.
What do you find is the biggest hurdle in maintaining an active lifestyle and how do you overcome that?
For me it is boredom. If I am doing the same thing every time I come in I get bored and make excuses not to come. I find that the classes are generally different each time and each different instructor teaches differently so you don’t get sick of it.
You also need to find what you enjoy. Some people like to come in and do weights by themselves. I prefer the classes where we can interact with other people. I particularly love the boxing classes and do as many as I can get to. Try everything until you find what works for you.
